No, really...WHO the f#ck is Rio kissing?!??

Hello my Lovelies,

Ever since the news of Jem and the Holograms becoming a live action movie, my brain has allowed all of the loose ends from the 80's cartoon to bubble back up to the surface. I've been writing Jem fan-fiction since 1995 (don't judge me), and have hailed the animation for encouraging a part of my love for fashion. So the writers will need to uphold a few high standards in order to make this film, not only successful, but true to it's original fan base..

1. FASHION - Not only was Jem the trendsetter of the cartoon world, but that bitch was never caught dead in the same outfit (granted her Classic performance garb) twice. Don't get it twisted. If fashion isn't a major part of this film -- and I'm not talking Hipster boho "trendiness" -- then you've already got a HUGE wound before you even make it to post.

2. Muti-Cultural Representation (i.e. We are the world, and all that shit) - Casting is UBER important for this movie. Not so much for every character, but for the Holograms especially. Looking over the lovely ladies cast for Jem and her Hologram band mates, I was feeling a bit let down by casting's choices. Now I'm sure these gals are phenomenal actresses, but I have to say I was hoping for a darker-skinned, kinky-haired Shana. Unless Perrineau wears a wig and literally dons 'black face', I'm not quite sure how she can pull of Shana's look. You've cast a 16 year old with no acting experience. Would it have killed you to try a littler harder on this one?

3. Bad Romance - And for those of us that are the hardest-of-the-core fans, we were left reeling in agony for years as the issue of Rio being a cheater was never addressed. As willing as Jerrica in Jem's clothing may have been, if you're looking through Rio's eyes, he's banging the planet's #1 pop star and leaving his homely girl behind! Were Jerrica and Rio broken up officially? Is he still considered a good guy?? This issue must be put to rest.. for the fans' heart's sake!!!

3-A. Multi-timing Romances:

But not only that, Jem turns around and totally plays Rio by hanging with other guys! Not to mention, one of them being the lead of their rival band, The Stingers:

3-B. Love triangle much?: And it's not like Rio and Riot are doing all the chasing.. Apparently there's a lot of unrequited loves happening on this show. Here's a quick guide on the triad, or quadruped, er... cinco-- I dunno what the fuck to call it..

Hello my Lovelies,

Since I've heard that Hasbro (@HasbroNews) has given the rights of Jem and the Holograms up to make a movie (and I'm sure toys), I've been silently stewing at work, wanting to take a week off just to flesh out all that Jem fan fiction I've been writing since high school. So 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' director Jon M. Chu (@Jonmchu) has teamed up with 'Oculus' producer Jason Blum (@blumhouse), and talent manager Scott Samuel "Scooter" Braun (@scooterbraun) to make a Jem and the Holograms movie!!!!!! Now if you know anything about Chu and Blum, they know a thing or two...or three about special effects. So I TOTALLY trust these guys to get the whole hologrammy thing right.

And do you know what the best part about these guys making the movie?? THEY ARE ASKING FOR FAN SUBMISSIONS!!!! FAN! SUB.MIS.SIONS! *passes out* What the fuck guys, are you trying to give me a heart attack?!!??! So you understand my plight while I'm at my 9 to 5.............Stewing.

Below you'll find their video explaining what they expect from fans right now. Unfortunately the singing and dancing Auditions were wrapped April 6th, but I say keep sending them in. If you catch their eye, they won't turn you away...trust me.

And if you're already following the makings of this movie, then you know that they announced the official Jem and The Holograms cast! You can check read all about the casting at Comics Alliance (@comicsalliance).
CONGRATS to all the winners and honorable mentions!! So this makes me wonder if the selling of these tees will coincide with the production of the new Jem Movie (@Jemthemovie)? Either way, I hope I can get my grubby little hands on some Jem swag this upcoming NY Comic Con. Every year my spine tingles when I see those extra large, colorful bags being carried around the con.
Hello Lovelies,

But really, I'm so super excited to be a part of Comic Con again. Last year, I had the utmost pleasure sharing a booth with two very good friends and fellow designers, Mary (gla.MAR.ous™/@shopglamarous) and Sylvia (@CentennialComp). Not only did they offer a fantastic variety of fashion and accessories in the booth, but they gave great advice (and a helping hand) to a newcomer like myself. Oh yes, and endless entertainment and humor. I wouldn't have been able to survive those longs hours without them! :) And thanks to everyone who paid us a visit!! Then comes this year's event, where I must go it alone. I'm not really as nervous as I thought I'd be, but I'm sure the mild butterflies will turn into razor wasps that week before the event. Hopefully, more friend's will be able to make an appearance and hang for a bit this year *hint, hint* ;)

Anyhoo, for this very limited time (Oct 10-13) we'll have a dressing room to try on garments, a trading table if you have toys, stationary, or accessories to trade, and some pretty nice deals on select items at our booth #2880.

I hope to see your lovely faces~!!
Love Always,
Hello My Lovelies!

Remember Yayoi Kusama's show at the Whitney? The exhibit housed in a darkened room full of lights, "Fireflies on the Water"? Not only was it an amazing experience, but Kusama doesn't make it to New York very often. So when I learned she lent her design visuals for Electronic DJ Towa Tei's album 'Lucky' (out now!), my heart nearly skipped a beat!
If you're not familiar with Kusama's work, I'm sure you've probably seen her Pop Art at one time or another without realizing it. Much like Andy Warhol, the works of Yayoi Kusama's never stand within the realms of the definition of "art". Lucky for us, she keeps on churning out her magical pieces where we'd least expect them. Can't wait for the next exhibit!

Hello My Lovelies!

For those of you that know me personally, you know I am OBSESSED with Jem and The Holograms. And (embarrassed to admit) I've had some Jem fan fiction in the works for quite some time. Every few weeks or so I'll get the itch to write out a few scenes or flesh out some new ideas, but it hasn't ever been a sit-down-and-write-until-it's-completed type of gig. I'm not even sure I'll ever fully complete any piece of it, or publish it, for that matter. But for now it's just a fun hobby I can keep coming back to when it tickles my fancy.

However, the past few days have been quite interesting as I've been consumed by the idea of recreating the characters in my Sims universe. And those of you that know how I feel about The Sims, know that combining these two obsessions leads to an unhealthy weekend of junk food, poor circulation, no socializing, and the occasional trip to the restroom (which really should be more frequent). But at least I'm drinking water, right??

But what this post is about really, is the nature of creativity. The number one rule that all successful writers live by is to write no matter what. And that may seem easier than it actually is. Well, at least for someone like myself that edits themselves before anything is ever written. I can sit at the computer for an hour and will talk myself out of many plot changes, only to lose my inspiration out of frustration. Thus losing the original idea (that put my butt in the chair in the first place) and never having written a single word. It's a nasty, vicious cycle.

That being said, I've just recently finished a book by Keith Sawyer called Zig Zag: The Surprising Path To Greater Creativity, where he explains about this very subject. And not just about writing, but about all things creative. He explains that the underlining theme of what keeps creative types creative is switching to another art form. When you've hit a road block, it's imperative that you keep up with the "write no matter what" rule. That doesn't necessarily mean starting a completely new project. But instead, it is re-imagining your existing project in another form. That way, something new may arise out of this other form that you can apply to the original. Thus, keeping you in a disciplined work ethic.

This has kept me trudging along on my JATH fan fiction by creating the characters in the Sims universe, and having them to interact with once another. My goal is to watch closely to their actions/reactions and hope it will spark some new ideas. But for now, they're just a lot of fun to play. :)

Hello My Lovelies!

This heat wave on the east coast has nearly robbed me of all my energy. Normally, I bask in the hot rays, but this weekend I just about melted :( So what did I do to combat the heat? Well, I kept a steady diet of ice cream of course! (and water, but that's no fun..) Whilst being heat stroked and drowning in cream, I dreamt of wearing pastel colors of pink, lilac, and minty green!
Like any holiday celebrated in America, you start it off with a drink. And if you're still holding on to those wild and crazy college years, you'll probably start with Jello shots..
Not only will this snack be a healthy alternative to the usual pre-made, frozen (and full of preservatives) hor d'oeuvres, but you'll also get a nice dose of vitamins and antioxidants from the berry family. While I'm on this healthy roll, I might as well mention the benefits of drinking wine with your meal. Now, this is assuming that all wines are filled with antioxidant capabilities (an argument that varies, depending who you ask). But it's a known fact, according to my alcoholic friends, that red wines tend to offer the most of these benefits. That being said, enjoy this patriotic berry-filled Red, White, and Blue Sangria from PunchBowl.com for double antioxidant power!
Now that you've got that first layer on, cover up in some denim. Survival Basics:

The first thing you'll need to lock down is clean water. If you were at home, your first action would be to fill the tub up with water. Since the city will most likely shut down, there's no telling how much longer clean water will run through the pipes. But let's be honest, shit's probably gonna get real while you're at the office...so I hope you have a canteen on hand.

Next, ram-sack the office's kitchen. Grab anything and everything that will have a long shelf life. Cereal, Ramen, Granola bars, breads, fruit with a protective skin, hell even Ketchup and Jelly packets (don't scrunch your nose, you know you've have a ketchup sandwich before. Also packets of salt and pepper. because if you're gonna have to camp like The Land Before Time, I'm just saying, pack some salt for the sanity of your taste buds!).. But try to be discreet about it. If you're in the office during regular hours while the Zombie apocalypse happens, then your co-workers will be too busy calling their loved ones with noses glued to CNN on their computer screens. So casually trot on over and fill your sack with goodies. Because after all, there's no telling where you'll be headed in the next few moments, and for how long you'll be traveling.

So Summer time is almost here and I'm already getting excited about new ice cream flavors! Of course I'll be indulging on the usual variations of Rocky Road and which establishment has the best Vanilla Bean. But today I'd like to cover some of the places I always "swear I'll visit when the weather gets warmer", but end up bent over a deep freezer, at 3am, legs dangling, reaching for the last New York Super Fudge Chunk. So this time around I'll be taking random trips around NYC to preview the most tantalizing creams of the dairy world.

I was told I would find the most delicious Almond Cookie ice cream here, which I intend to sample, but I really have my heart set on trying their Black Sesame flavor. But is all else fails, I can always go for my Green Tea and Red Bean fallback flavors.

Okay, Yes, I know it's a franchise. And, yes, I understand that there are much more economically fulfilling mom & pop parlors I can visit. But can you argue with a place that offers such amazing portions for sampling alone?? Truth be told, I would have never dabbed a toe over their threshold until a childhood friend of mine suggested the place while randomly passing. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! Or maybe I was... but my mouth was happy. And so was my digestive tract, as 16 Handles is all FroYo! My first visit consisted of a multi-tasting of Graham Cracker, Chocolate Love Affair, and Coffee Break. But the next time I go, I'd love to explore their Tart flavors, like Peach White Tea Tart and Pink Grapefruit Tart. Oh yeah...did I mention they have an uber amount of toppings??

Hello my Lovelies <3

It's literally been ages since I've updated my blog. Many apologies for this. From this day forward, I have made a vow to stay as updated as possible! ..As much as my health and sanity may allow. Neither snow, nor rain, nor gloom of night..! (now, where have I heard that?) Anyhow, I'm back (ow oww!) and there will be lots of new events and Lolita items for you in 2013! I'm very excited! :)

But before I can speak about upcoming happenings..

2012 Wrap Up!

<3 New York ComicCon (@NY_Comic_Con)
Those of you who know how crazy I am about Cosplay, and how I use any moment I can to dress up, understand how flippin' awesome it was to get a trades table at New York ComicCon last year. But I didn't go it alone. I had the pleasure of sharing a table with friend Mary of Gla.Mar.Ous™ (@shopglamarous), selling her patent-pending zipper headbands. And Steampunk craftsmith friend Sylvia of Centennial Compass (@CentennialComp), showing off her handmade pieces. And they weren't the only rock stars holding up the fort. We also had gal pal and fierce fashion-blogger Nubia of Nubia's Nonsense (@NubiasNonsense) stop by with photographer extraordinaire Theresa Taylor (@TheresaTaylor_). But this gaggle of girlies wouldn't be complete without the romantic novelist herself, Ruth Nineke (@RuthNineke)!

There were quite a few more friends, and friends of friends, that came to show their support. As well as many bright and shiny new faces that we could show nothing but our most humble appreciation. Thanks to everyone that stopped by the booth, and those that were able to support. Though a small venue, it was great to meet fellow Lolitas not too far from my borough (well, it was a 1.5 hr drive). Good thing I had Sylvia with me, or else I would have been bored out of my mind! Not that the people were a bore. But I think we accumulated less than a dozen patrons over a 4-hour period. Hmm, I think that is it for 2012. It felt like a quick year, and 2013 already feels quicker. So on with future plans! :)

2013 and onward!

As I would love to be involved in copious amounts of events this year. I'm a little behind on planning, and maybe will only be committed to the later half of 2013. But I will keep you all posted on my plans to do at least one event per month on 2014. It will take a lot of concentration and determination, but I'm prepared for the challenge. That being said, here I will most likely take part in the following events..

<3 Sakura Matsuri (@bklynbotanic) - Brooklyn, NY

As of right now I will have one dress for the Cherry Blossom Festival here in Brooklyn's Botanical Gardens. The plan is to have my first full Sweet Lolita Dress in the Lolita Parade on both Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting. I would hope to have more than one dress, but we will have to play it by ear.

<3 Comic Con (@Comic_Con) - San Diego, CA

As much as I'd love to be at this con, time is yet a factor again. Last year after NYCC, I had high hopes of branching out to the bigger con of the two. But the holidays were rough, and poor planning on my part hadn't crossed enough "t"s or dotted any "i"s. So we will keep this in mind (well in advance) for 2014.

<3 Otakon (@Otakon)- Baltimore, MD (and maybe Vegas!)

I've spent many nights in junior and high school dreaming about the day I finally make the pilgrimage to Otakon. The only problem was I was a broke, under-aged dreamer without an anime community for support. Now, I may finally have the chance! But what is this?? I can also attend the con in Las Vegas, NV come January 2014?!? The news came officially from the Chairman of Otakon Vegas, stating:

"Otakon Vegas is a new event that will allow us to further our mission. We’ve currently hit a limit on what we can do in Baltimore, so we looked to expand instead of to grow only in one location."

You can read the rest of his statement at PopulationGo, or visit the official Otakon Vegas website for news and updates. Personally, I think having a huge con in the winter is cutting it too close to the holidays. And I'm predicting mostly locals will be able to attend due to the financial crunch. And maybe that was the plan all along? Easterners, like myself, will have to plan far in advance to travel successfully across the country (lest I be a greedy con gobbler).. ;)

On this cloudy Sunday Afternoon, I find it too humid and hot to eat, and too lazy to frolick outside in the lack of sunshine.. so I've decided to devote this day to my Iced Coffee and a post about the orgins of Lolita fashion, and how its becoming bigger everyday in America.

It is said that Lolita style was created in the mid-1970's when the clothing brands Pink House and Milk began making more 'western'-style dresses and frilly seperates based on the American tv shows like Little House on the Prairie. They were made with housewives in mind that wanted to wear something less traditional around the house. But since I was born in the 80's, the idea of Lolita (in the fashion sense) wasn't even known to me until the mid 1990's. But this version of Lolita that I've come to know is much different that their predecessors. Their style tends be suited in dresses with bright, ditsy floral prints, and lace pieces..its a little girl look. When this trend came about, there were much arguments on where the orgins really started and if this was a positive or negative direction for women in that time.

As most americans know, the 60's was a time of sexual revolution and feminism. I feel that Japanese women experiencing this cultural shift wanted a way to liberate themselves in a way they were never before able. But when the idea of 'Lolita' came to America, we immediately thought of Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita (1955), in which he tells the story of a sexually promiscuous prepubescent teen that seduces her mother's boyfriend (and eventually husband) by using her sweetness and girly charm. It was from this misconception that has taken America so long to jump on the bandwagon. But now that more and more Lolita's are educating themselves and others on the true orgins of this style, it gives the trend a chance to grow at an immense speed! On a side note: I still havent read Lolita, but I've seen both the 1962 (Stanley Kubrick) and 1997 (Adrian Lyne) film adaptations of the novel, and enjoyed them both quite a bit. Its tuely a sad story in the end, but a good story none the less.

Unlike Pink House, Milk tends to design their clothing with the Gothic Lolita in mind. The main misconception with the style of Gothic Lolita is that somehow we immediately think frilly 'french maid-esque' outfits with hair doilies and lace gloves. Okay, so this is half right... Gothic Lolita, Elegant Lolita, and the like tend to follow in the path of a more Victorian or Rococo period style and use lots of 1 color (as opossed to mixed prints as Natural Kei, or Punk)..

So we know when and how the trend started, now lets take a closer look at the actual dressings for each style genre and their sub-genres:

CLASSIC LOLITA
Right now, this is the style that is most recognized across the globe. The trend is simple yet compiled with lots of lace trims, ruffles, and sofisticated prints (if any print at all, but usually not). The Victorian Era and some Rococo period style influences this style of lolita. Always having a full skirt, long sleeve blouse (with plenty of ruffles), and some sort of head piece. Carrying extra accessories is optional but highly encouraged. Some American Classic Lolita motifs include the Gibson Girl profile, whose character was considered to stand for feminine beauty, independence, and personal fulfilment.
Dressings: Knee Length (or longer) skirts with peticoat and knee length bloomers. Bloomers are not a must, but they tend to add a doll-like appearance to the entire outfit (It is prefered to look as doll-like as possible). I've seen this calssic skirt in many different colors and I dont think this specifically matters so much, but bows in various areas brings this simple style some "oompf". Long sleeve or Short puff sleeve blouses with ruffles down the front and a high neck collar and/or a tied bow (usually of the blouse fabric) pair perfectly with the skirt. Stockings or Knee highs are a must. I've seen some really cute print ones, but it is not necessary. Different styles of Mary Jane shoes can be worn, For the Classic look, usually simple black mary janes will do. Accessories can range from lace bow barettes, bow headband, lace doily (on top of the head and tied under the chin). Many Lolitas in Harajuku are seen with a cute mini rolling luggage. This can have an allover print or trims that match the outfit (must match the outfit!). Also parasols are common (these are especially helpful on hot summer days).
Hair: Lolita hair across the board most commonly follow the guidlines of full, straight cut bangs with the back and sides having lots of long, loose curls or tightly curled ringlets (doll-like). Twin ponytails are also worn low on either side of the head with bangs.

Makeup: Classic style of makeup is a fresh, powdery foundation, no blush or eyeshadow is required, and only the eyes are lined in black with false lashes emphasised at the outer corners. A nude or pinkish/natural lipstick is worn.
Brands: Mary Magdalene, Victorian Maiden, Innocent World
Male Counterpart: The masculine version of the Classic Lolita style also follows along the lines the Victorian Era/Rococo period fashions. In japan its called Oji (Boystyle), but Americans more commonly know this as Kodona, Dandy, or Aristocrat. They will usually wear long slacks or knickers with stockings in dark colors, long sleeve blousy shirts (almost Shakespearean), a vest in solid colors or brocade or in fabric matching his female partner. His accessories with more than likely include a top hat or news boys cap, buckled dress shoes, sometimes a cane, but I see this more as a Gothic accessory. The guys hair can be parted down the middle and worn long, or long with a side part. Kodona clothing is very hard to find, but there are a few shops that are starting to incorporate men's needs into their stores. But Kodona isnt only for guys, girls can wear this too!

Classic Kadona (boy style):

GOTHIC LOLITA
Much like the Classic Lolita trend, the styling is the same, but with a lot more lacy trims and black is used as a main color almost every time. Other colors can be dark, like Classic but not many multi-colored prints are used. Usually a brocade fabric reminiscent of the Rococo (Victorian's gaudy cousin) period serves as a more common fabric, than a simple, solid color with a print.
Dressings:Same styled pieces as the Classic Lolita, but with a ton more lace trims, ruffles, ribbons, pearls, brooches, etc. Here the blouse can be lacy, and lace gloves are more commonly worn. Shoes range from Mary Janes to Platform boots, to T-strap heels...all depending on how the style should be viewed. This style is slightly more sexy than the Classic doll-like look, but can still be just as cute. Lots of antique looking silver jewelry (usually crosses) are used here, with other large stones. Mini tophats are nearly a must here, or at least a lacy head covering, or large bow.
Hair: Same as above, the hair tends to have a straight or tightly curled ringlets (doll-like), with straight cut bangs.
Makeup: Foundation is usually worn several shades lighter than the natural skin color. Again the cheeks are left blush-less and no eye shadow is worn, but usually the eyeliner is thicker and sometimes smudged or "smokey". Black lipstick can be worn, or a nude lip. This all depends on the image she wants to portray. The makeup in the photo below is a bit Visual Kei, but I'm sure you get the idea..
Brands:Moi Même Moitié, h.NAOTO (also great for Punk Lolita)
Male Counterpart:Guys basically look the same as the Classic Aristocrat, but I havent seen many men's Gothic style in knickers and tights. Mostly (if not only) Black is worn inthe same fabrics as the female, with dress shoes, boots, or platforms. Here, the guy's outfit seems to be draped a bit differently, with longer coats or jackets worn with lace. Long sleeve blouse (almost always in black) with ruffles and a high collar is great here. Many chunky antiqued silver rings are worn with or without large jewels. Necklaces and/or brooches are a must, with a top hat and long flowing hair. Sometimes they wear lace gloves, but any glove will do, I think. Many times they guy will also wear lighter, powdery foundation with eyeliner, sometimes with black lipstick, sometimes without depending on how he wants to be portrayed.

Sub-genre: ELEGANT GOTHIC LOLITA (EGL)
Exaclty the same as Gothic Lolita, but mostly using Off White or Eggshell as the main colors. Sometimes the hair can be a sandly blonde, or strawberry blonde, but the makeup is usually kept dark. Sometimes this style can look a bit Little Bow Peep-ish, but it doesnt have to.. Lots, and I mean tons of lace trim is used, along with pearls, bows, and ribbons. Mary Janes and Platforms are worn here. The photos below are an example of EGL and Kadona (boys style):

SWEET LOLITA
Is comprised of the same clothing stylings as the Classic Lolita, but this is the more light-hearted trend, only using pastel colors. Lots of ruffles and baby animals and sweets prints are used here to emphasis the cuteness and girlyness of the wearer.
Dressings: Always pastel colors and some sort of 'sweet' allover print. Someitmes solid colors are used, but usually in the style of Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Jumper dresses are big here as well, trimmed in same fabric ruffles and scalloped lace. Printed stockings are worn here in polka dots, stripes, floral vines, bows, anything cute that fits the outfit really. Also frilly aprons are used here over the skirts, sometimes with a heart-shaped pocket. Lots of bows and hearts are worn here, with costume jewelry and accessories that have stuffed animal themes, plastic candies, cakes/pies, hearts, bows, and anything "sweet". Mostly Mary Janes are worn here with bows, and Platform flats with bows. The usual rolling luggage is toted around here with a heart or teddy bear-shaped purse. But sometimes you will see a backpack worn with a stuffed animal peaking out, or a stuffed animal as the back pack. A stuffed animal is usually carried in one form or another with this style.
Hair: Twin ponytails with bangs are big here, especially with the polytails tied high on the sides of the head. This gives a more girly look. Also tight ringlets are worn for a doll-like appearence.
Makeup: The foundation is kept light (but not as light at Gothic) and powdery, with no eyeshadow but eyes are lined in black with fake, doll-like eyelashes. Here blush is usually worn in a pale pink or light coral in doll-like circles. But it is imprtant to not make the blush look like Raggedy Ann, as the blush should be kept light as a hinted color. Lips can be nude, with a little gloss, or in a natural pink or coral color (with gloss).
Brands:Baby, The Stars Shine Bright, Angelic Pretty, Sweet Rococo <--=(An American Brand!)
^ ___ ^ !
Male Counterpart:Not used to seeing guys dress in pastel colors, but I found 1 guy who was brave enough!

NATURAL KEI, or LOLITA (depending who you ask)
This is where it all began in the mid 1970's. A lighthearted, frilly change from the norm, with plenty of girlyness to go around. Deep rooted in western (and in the West of America) farmer-esque culture, a sense of natural fabrics and florals mixed with a tint of Equestrian can be seen as an influence. Natural Kei is often compared to the Mori Girl (Forest Girl), who seems too bohemian (to me) to be considered Lolita style.
Dressings: Prairie skirts in many layers and ruffles, simple and flowing. Ditsy floral prints, and in natural or neutral colors. Cochet pieces like to make an appearance here, from sweaters to hair pieces, to skirt trims. Ususally full dresses or full jumpers are worn over ruffled skirts. Long sleeve shirts with rounded collars are also worn. Usually suede boots or crochet boots/shoes are worn here, but you can pair the outfit with a natural colored Mary Jane as well.
Hair:
Sometimes with bangs, sometimes without, but almost always with braided pigtails. Other hairstyles can be kept long and wavy, with a center or side part (but that is more of a bohemian look). Hair ornaments are usually large blossoms or wildflowers, or a wide brimmed hat and ribbon tie would complete this look. Also side slung bags and oversized sweaters work well as layering pieces.
Makeup: As natural as you can be! A shade of foundation matching your skin color, or slightly sunkissed can be used. Black or heavy eyeliner should not be used with this style, but mascara would be great to bring out the eyes (no false lashes). A natural blush color can be used, but is not needed. And the lips are left natural or Coral, but not glossy.
Brands: So far, I've only found Pink House to carry this style... all the rest have been Mori.
(- _____ -;; ) Not that Mori isnt cute, but not what I was looking for.
Male Counterpart: Sadly I havent found any male Natural Kei yet, but I'm sure I saw some Mori guy in an ad about a year ago...

PUNK LOLITA Thia style seems to be a mashup of both Classic Lolita and Visual Kei. With mostly black, with splashes of bold colors worn here. Sometimes piece of the look are a little tattered and mended together with large safety pins or laces (think British Punk with a Lolita twist), but not always. Sometimes the Classic Lolita look is kept, but in bolder plaid patterns. This form seem a lot less girly and fragile that the norm, usually taking on a slightly more punky DIY approach.

Dressings: The usual Lolita uniform in black with plaid patterings in bold colors, such as hot pink, red, cobalt blue, violet, etc. Add ripped stockings or ripped fishnets and combat boots and you've nearly completed the look! Accessories range from large safety pins randomly place, chains, zippers (in the clothing), crosses, patches (on vest/jackets), and a tie is a must. Mismatched knee highs or stockings (usually striped) work here as well..

Hair: Hair is can be black withor a darker redish-blonde with pieces of bold colorings, but its not limited to this. An entire head of a bold color works here as well. Also bangs are usually worn, though I've seen some messy side parts and side ponytails. Definately a lot of fullness and height/teasing will benefit this trend.

Makeup: For the most part, follows the Gothic Lolita look of light foundation, heavy black liner (smudged if you like), black or red lipstick (or natural), and blush is used if prefered.
Brands:h.NAOTO
Male Counterpart: Luckily this was an easy style for the masculine looks and is just as common as Aristocrat.
There is SO MUCH to explain about all the different kinda of lolita genres, so I will have to stop the post here and continue on with the lesser known, or sub-genre's at another time.

Until then...
But dont bother with the +1 unless you're bringing you mom, sister, dad, granny.. because they are limiting it to family +1 only.. no friend +1 alowed! Even though I feel that's kinda lame, I understand its because of the small space of the floor, but i dont think that's a reason to limit between fam and friends.. :(
Opening a fashion boutique is a lifelong dream of mine.. Even when I was younger and wasnt really thinking of fashion from a sellers point of view, I've always sketched out little event spaces, stores, amusement parks..even future homes that I'd love to own. (This is probably why I'm completely addicted to The Sims! And not that I'm not addicted to it enough, but they are about to launch The Sims Social game on Facebook! Its kinda like Yoville, but with better graphics and the same nautiness as the PC game..) Even though I've always felt a bit silly for drawing up these things that I'd most likely never be able to afford or successfully launch, it just seemed that these ideas were etched in the stars for me. I even took a course in Theatre Set Design, hoping I could possibly upgrade to actual architecture courses... but the Math classes always turned me off from that (#____#;;)

Maybe one day I will muster up enough courage to actually show these plans to you all, or they may collect dust in their notebooks for eternity.... one day...... *le sigh* ...we will see..
I'm back from a brief hiatis from the blogging world. It was a short run brought on by..well, work. That's right. This Lolita is no longer 'laid off'.. Well, not much different though because as a non-union freelancer, my job can go at any moment with no safety net (or health insurance for that matter).. but i'm glad to be back!
While I was away, I did however manage to succeed in growing my Pammy Cakes line.. I suppose I've been much harder on myself than I thought, because in perspective I managed to have more than a dozen items avaialble for purchase at my own web address: PammyCakesBoutique.com.. A feat I never thought could happen, but little by little I'm trying to keep it going. For now I've hit a bit of a lazy brick wall. Summer is here and I'm anticipating Autumn/Winter 2011, but at the same time not trying to stress myself out so I can enjoy the fruits of the NYC life.. For the first time in my life money isnt a HUGE issue! I mean, I still have my moments here and there where I need to watch my budget, but this will be the first time I'm not on a steady diet of Dollar Menu items and ramen.. :D

That being said, I want to devote more time.. i mean reeeaally devote time to developing my company through getting more involved with the Lolita community. Perhaps this is what I really need than to just try to crank out half-witted merch just because i know i should be working, u know? So instead of coming back here ever so often to show you a new item I've managed to think up, I'll be leaving reviews of some kawaii blogs, Lolita-worthy shops (NYC/NJ area), and whatever awesomeness that will come out of that.. Until then, I will leave you with a few images of what I have up i my shop at PammyCakesBoutique.com
I've been a partial fan of Lady Gaga since she began making a big hooplah around last summer. I mean, I do like some of her songs, but i never liked them enough to research who she was, what her music was about, etc etc etc... I just thought that she was your run of the mill pop star who made a lucky break w/ some awesome producer.. BOY! Was I wrong! o_O;; Not only until I saw her performance on MTV's VMA awards.. even before that..once I saw her costumes I was hooked instantly. And now she has become my new obsession..amongst other things.. :D

Just the sheer boldness of wearing the design she chose for the show.. the outrageous face covers.. the unnerving theatrical performance of the cream outfit dripping with blood.. It was great! It was as if Marie-Antoinette, the Phantom (of the Opera), and (Rock Me) Amadeus were all rolled into one wonderful, gaudy character! And I want more of it! It would be an absolute dream to design costumes for Lady Gaga, or at least have her wear some of the things I've created. To be able to have her as a spokesperson for my line would be beyond awesome (is there a better word than this???) Perhaps "Magnificent" is a better word to descripbe this feeling.. Yes, simply magnificent!

But I'm definately getting beside myself.. *sigh* Oh, to live the dream.. But its the constant chase of the dream that's the exciting part. Just like the game of dating.. You meet someone new and are intrigued, then that turns into a slight obsession, then you cant get them out of your head. Endless thoughts of interactions and scenarios rumble through.. And you cant help it because you are in, for lack of a better word, in LOVE! And it will crush you, no matter how much you try to succeed at it. If you allow it, your soul will be torn to bits bc of this love. But as all love/hate relationships go, it will pick you up off the ground. Even at the lowest point it will be there.. and hopefully the love will be strong enough to mend the broken, misunderstood pieces, and then the success will believe you are ready to take it on.

At least that's what 'following a dream' means in my head. But maybe I'm waaay too romantic to see the realities of what it means to be successful in America right now, but I know what it means to be successful to myself. That's enough, i think, for anyone to benefit in this life. I mean, there's not much left for ppl to gain here on our planet anymore. Our natural resources are quickly being deminished, humans are polluting and poisoning the oceans and the only air we have to breathe. And then there's the issue of the garbage. The metal and the rubber and the plastics that can not decompose. They've been disposed of in such a way that will outlast any organic life it serves. And it...i mean we, the humans...are slowly extinguishing our own lives without so much as a blink of accountability.

But alas, I've gotten very far off of the subject. I've gotten much too overwhelmed with the thought and this has made me lazy now... gahh..

So I'm going to leave you with this little tidbit of colourful silliness..
So I was going to start talking about how the Brooklyn Hipsters are kinda slowly turning into DIrty Hippies.. but it hasnt occured to me until now that I havent yet properly explained what my company is all about. I mean, I've mentioned it quite a few times previously, but never went into depth of how it started and the ideals behind it, etc..

Back sometime around about 100-125 days of unemployment, I got the crazy idea that if I'm going to make my own company happen, then I've got to do what I'm completly obsessed with. And what is this thing? Japan.. I remember a friend of mine asking me once, "If you were to have an online store, what would you have in it?" Well it didnt really take me 2 seconds to answer him. I immediately said, "Definately a japanese import shop. And not the kind that sells 'Oriental' furniture or some Kitana display, but cute stuff that ppl (Americans) love to collect. Things that remind you of your awesome vacation in Japan.." Items like a Jelly drink from the vending machine outside your hostel in Shinjuku, the Twin Stars rhinestone kit you spied on a local's cell phone in Shibuya, the Lolita dress worn by a salery woman at Harajuku train station, who tries to hide her identity bc it could ruin her reputation at work. This would be my dream..

But I hadnt realized this yet, in the beginning stages. All I knew was I had this obsession with japanese street styles and the idea of that rebel mentality. It amazes me that there are designers and shopkeepers that are from these groups of rebel cosplayers, then brought their idea of fashion into fruition. Made it readily available for that group of ppl and was successful!

There's Lolita, Ganguro, Decora, Visual Kei, Kadona, etc etc etc.. I've since narrowed my category of style down to Lolita or EGL (Elegant Gothic Lolita). I want to ultimately make my own dress, skirt and blouse patterns, and accessories as well. But since I havent been able to purchase any of the needed materials, I have taken a turn to t-shirt production sites. Where I can supply the design for the tee & sell it for however much i want, with no physical materials needed on my end. Then after I'm able to make a little bit of money from that, then I can start on the 'handmade' portion of the company. But for now, I've just got 1 tee and a cellphone/bberry decoration kit up.. And as soon as the programs come through (& laptop), then I'll be able to put up the other tee designs. Oh, i just want to get started already! But patience is a virture!

The company name is Pammy Cakes. It was derived from a nickname my fashion friend gave me and my love of the Sofia Coppola movie Marie-Antoinette. That's really where the spark began. Here's this young girl, having to participate in an arranged marriage, move into a country in which she's not familiar..then having the whole world open up to her. When the king dies suddenly, her prince becomes her king, and she become's queen of the country.. the weigh of the whole government is put on her & her king's shoulders.. They're just a couple of kids, wanting to just live! She didnt mean to be rediculously decadent, but what would you do in that situation? You'd live it up as well! Anyway.. to combine that degree of decadence into fashion right now, combined with the modern lines of Japanese street culture & candy colors.. this is what i wanted to create for my customer.. Eh, its a bit complicated how i'm thinking of it now.. but it makes sense when i'm designing the graphics and chosing which icons would be best for the company. Its a work in prgress, yes i know this. But it's definately well on its way to becoming the next best thing. I guarantee it!
Oh computer faerie, how many times issues have i had w/ my PC in the past... please grant me something that will last longer than a couple of years :P

So the current situation with my online business has taken a turn for the even worser.. I already havent had any cash flow going into my projects, and my camera has been frozen w/ the shutter open bc of battery failure. Now, the virus on my PC has led me to use a malware, which deleted some drivers, so now that its back up & running.. everything on the Hard Drive has been wiped clean (all my graphic projects, completed & in limbo, and music files from fruity loops) so i have to start anew.. Yes, its been the first time i've cried in quite some time..but i'm now looking forward to newer, better things...greater ideas! Its kind of metaphoric to the way my life is going right now.. if there were a fire, would i be completely crushed? Then relieved to start fresh?

So i've got a plan to purchase a cheap laptop with an external hard drive. It should cost me between $200-$500 depending on how good a deal i can get from my fellow friends and/or neighbors, or both. I feel like even if i get another virus meltdown, i will only lose programs (which can be reinstalled), but no actual files, which will be stored on the external HD.. if i can at least provide this sort of security for myself, i'll be able to rest easy.. ;) Its an investment i'm ready to commit to, its an investment i have no choice to commit to at this point.. (must i always wait until something horrid happens until i actually provide adequit support for my company?) Better this happening now, than say, a year from now, when more important (or more expensive) projects could have been destroyed..

Cant wait until i can get my Illustrator & photoshop programs back up & running.. Have to shop around for the Illustrator, but just need a reg key for the photoshop.. all in due time tho.. Currently, i've been working my wrist raw (a good feeling 'raw' of achievment) sketching by hand & actually making use of the big tupperware box of old art supplies.. i have to admit, i've had that stuff for 4 yrs & havent broke it out until this week! So yes, the loss of the data has opened up many more opportunities in my forgotten physical life! I have gotten so used to sketching on the computer, swaping & storing, yet losing my god-given ability to the paper & pen (yes, i never sketch in pencil.. too much smudging - its the only thing in my life i can commit to, ack!).. but its keeping me sane & focused on the future.

Soon when i'm able to get eveything up & running for the online world, I'll post up some of the ideas i've been having..

Until then......
A bit of R&R after a tough couple of months..

So in wake of all the hardwork and ambition i've had over the past several weeks, i got a much needed break & actually had a couple of dollars to hop on the train for some free window shopping today.. Well, the flea market in Williamsburg didnt have windows, but it felt great to just get out of the house and enjoy the sun for a moment.. A friend and I accicentally found a really cute boutique called About Glamour and they have the cutest japanese stationary, vivianne westwood socks, cool accessories, and some vintage inspired clothing. We found out about the shop bc we were acutally headed for the Sakura Art Exhibition (7/31 - 8/27/2009).. The gallery is located at the back of the store (in a seperate room) so that it doesnt take away from the shopping in the front. Apparently, the Sakura show is only one of many group theme exhibitions in which you mark which piece is your favorite. The winning artist is then granted the opportunity to have their own solo show. How awesome is that?!?! SO yeah, i needed to be a part of that! :)

Then we came across a really cool tee company selling at the Williamsburg flea market Artists & Fleas. The tee company is GNOME enterprises and i bought 2 magents from them, the one with 2 bunnies, and an MJ magnet..(see pics to the left!) i wanted the MJ as a brooche but it wasnt available.. :( what can you do? But it was the setup that really brought be into their space.. someone very meticulously made a large (maybe 15 ft) tree out of felt, and cleverly made him a face that had the characteristics of Domokun.. it was adorable! So adorable, in fact, that my friend had the sudden urge to share a hug with the artist! He seemed to enjoy it..haha! So if you're ever around the way & feel like picking up any of these cute things, head on over to Artist & Fleas (129 N6, btwn Bedford & Berry).. GNOME is usually only there Sat & Sundays..
Let's recap. A casual stroll in Williamsburg, super sunny day, some cool ish at a flea market, found a new japanese inport shop, AND had a pinapple mojoto (forgot to mention that!) Oh yes.. this is what started off my day right! My friend had already purchased some sort of Pinapple chiller cocktail.. so the waiter asked if i wanted pineapple rum in my mojito. well why not? It turned out absolutely delish!
So I've dedicated my entire weekend to updating my resume, working on a few portfoilio items, and filling out numerous job applications..then coupling that with The Sims all-nighter episodes multiplied by no sleep and tiny meals...... Not having a job is really getting to me.. :(

With the recent onsight of my pup needing emergency surgery, then the bills causing me to be late on my rent.. the months of June and July have been especially rough on the measly unemplyment check i've been recieving since my layoff in December. There have been so many things going on this summer.. Birthday parties, going away parties, picnics, beach trips, concerts...even FREE events i've had to miss bc i cant afford a train ticket (for those of us NYers w/o a car or a liscense, you feel me?).. I mean, even the simplest things like Shampoo, and a loaf of bread (for crying out loud!) have been hard to come by.. But now that i'm all paid up with rent, and a couple new roomies that would allow rent to drop about $100 bucks, has shown me the light! Well, to relieve that little crunch of stress, hopefully one of these jobs will come through with at least an interview..

For the past couple months i havent been motivated to do anything, job
search wise, bc i've just been so fustrated. I've been even contemplating relocation, if it just meant I'd be able to afford a proper amount of groceries.. Instead of getting, "Bread, milk, eggs....." Counts change, "How much do you charge for half a dozen?" Its been rediculous these days.. and i've totally taken the ablility to order food delivery for granted. There have been so many nights where i'd have horrible cravings for Domino's hot wings and shrimp tacos with tomato, lime and cilantro.. oh man! Haha.. maybe this is my system weening itself from the addiction of fast food.. Well, the tacos would be kinda healthy if the shells werent deep fried...and if the tortillas were made of corn, not flour :P But thats besides the point. I guess I'm just so used to living this simple life, where i could afford a train ticket bc there's actually money in my account (in the 'to drink & party or whatever" category).. but thats my thing. I like to hang out with my friends and eat and drink with them.."To drink and be merry", i live for this! But I cant believe that I have to budget weather it would last longer to get a 5 lb bag of potatos or a 10 lb bag of rice..

Condements have been very important component to the home menu these days.. a little hot sauce on a scrambled egg and bowl of rice works wonders for the tastebuds. makes you believe your meal actually has depth..hah. But that makes me question the cost of living.. Common sense would tell you if your economy is down, you're going to have to lower the price of your good. But there's now talks of an inflation? Really?? I mean, really. Its insanity.

Ehh, this is SO NOT working out.. I'll even teach English in Japan for crying out loud! But this is beyond realizing theres no jobs, but maybe jobs will open in a few weeks. This is the unemployment rate is on a steady rise and NY's unemployment offices have extended the payouts twice in one year, and i'm still hearing of being laid off in large numbers. Hell, 2 weeks ago a friend (and brief co-worker) told me the department that i was working for was completely shut down. Not a couple more layoffs, but the whole. fucking. department. What am i supposed to do with that? How am i supposed to process this??

::calm down::

Anyway, that's where I'm at right now..
PetitLolita3http://www.blogger.com/profile/08499683583953474316noreply@blogger.com0Brooklyn, NY, USA40.6528762 -73.95949440.5565032 -74.1174225 40.7492492 -73.801565500000009tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8808260950983908842.post-84604508762318646772009-01-21T18:37:00.000-05:002012-04-26T21:23:59.701-04:00Day 56, Let's leave behind some green-eyed look-a-likes..

I'm sure I wrote a post before now, but somehow it has disappeared! :(

Well, its week 7 of being Laid-Off & I'm sad to say nothing much has happend since then, I had a slew of ideas & projects I wanted to work on, but somehow none has gotten done. I never got the wood for my loft, I never picked up the canvases for painting, I havent even plotted outwhat I wanted to paint yet! I havent really worked on music that much.. But I started my new portfolio, only to draw 1 outfit & not finish the rest. Why in the hell has laziness gotten me so! :(

Been reading a bunch on Past Life Regression hypnotherapy.. might give it a whirl, but it seems I will be flirting w/ danger.. Hmm, fear mostly, but I want to train myself to not be afraid of anything. I'm already an adventurer.. it would be awesome to not be a scardy cat adventurer, but you cant choose all your ticks.. Also because I have a Christian background, we are taught to belive that you live once then go to heaven or hell, depending on your time spent on Earth. But if past lives are possible, is that what is called "everlasting life"? I'm aftraid to go under the PLR hypnosis bc how will I know what's truth & what's suggestion? Our minds are very powerful tools, but how powerful exactly?? If we're usually only using 10% of our brains, would using 100% result in telekinesis? Would we be able to connect w/ the spirit world more easily? & if we are able to do this at some point or the other, how is it possible that we can control when we cross over? So much is being researched on this, but the church is steadfast on dimissing the issue w/o a look into it. I mean,do they think we cant handle it w/o proper instruction, or is that why they dont bother to admit such power? Or is it all a bunch of trickery to draw you futher out from the surf? If this is so, then why not tell us?? Why not tell us what it is instead of deny the possibility???

This is what makes a rebelious heart. Not allowing understanding, but shielding completely. It forces us to test the hot stove. Why isnt rebellious behaviour rewarded in this sense. Because it seams to me that if you are looking to learn lessons on your own, then applaud the forward thinker.. right? So many ppl that appiphanied fantastical ideas were ridiculed & negatively tagged "Witch" or "Sorcerer" or letting yourself be overcome by "Evil".. How do we know this for sure? How does anyone who's never experienced such things possibly know what it contains? Hmm.. I guess I'll sleep on it another night..

The only reason why I'm so passionate about it, I think, is because I seem to have been able to meditate & hypnotize myself w/o knowing. There are a few things I do to relax myself.. Usually I'm sitting super comfortable, usually lounging, & I put a song on repeat that has a slow, soothing, repetitive bass line (yeah the Bass works loads better for me that any of those "relaxation" CDs), then I vision up some swirling colors that correspond to the music.. Then before I even know it, I'm droned, feeling rather "far out" & excellent.

In one instance, I was cleaning my room on what I thought was a perfect day: About 85 degrees w/ a slight breeze. With the window wide open, the golden suns rays lapped my skin & over the whole room (Golden is important. the rays werent to bright as to hurt the eyes, as on those super bright days), and the clouds were perfectly puffed clusters dotting the liquid sky.. I sat up on my bed w/ my knees drawn up a bit & a pillow behind my back.. With the bass in my ears & the sun warming every surface, my mind naturally drifted into its own plane...bringin my body with it. & from this a man came; Faceless with golden skin. He sat down next to me, uncertain for a moment.. then an embrace. An embrace for all the senses. An overwhelming mellancholic love. Humming with electricity and a forbiddenly intense empathy. A love most agonizingly felt for illicit hearts.. Then as mystical as he had appeared, the pain starts. It felt as if a curious elbow has been placed between two ribs on my right side. Even the pain in the beginning was extacy.. but it became more piercing, more concentrated. Perhaps bc the feelings were not accessible to him and the curiosity consumed him on every level.

I silently begged him to stop this.. he felt my resist & pressed on. At that point it seems I was more a curious toy than an explored experience. But he let up and the trance was easily lifted. Once I came back I felt no pain, I didnt even have feelings of fear or disappointment.. Only feeling as weightless as a Sprite..

So if I were able, on my own accord, blend the lines of the earth plane & spirit plane...then why not PLR be truth? I can not tell you how many times I've caught a glimps or heard what was not there. Many times have been that moment between awake & sleep. Just before sleep & just before you wake up. I have had numorous occations where some is trying to get my attention. Calling my name or revealing only their presence in a room. I know this world exists, but why are we seperate? Why must we stay seperated? I'm sure there is a reason.. probably something along the lines of the power limits is a major issue. For whatever reason, a spirit has an unwavering amount of power.. but fleshies limit themselves. Combined by restricting religions and disciplined education, we are trained to do not what you feel, but what you are told. This is a very hard habit to break. Esp when its ground into our soul from birth, it makes limits on the brain, i think..

Could this be why I'm having difficulty learning languages or high school math?? Has my mind been binded so much that I'm deathly afraid of making a mistake, so better not try at all? Its a blockage that I hope I can fix with the hypnotherapy that my adventurous spirit needs..
Alrighty, I feel I've spewed enough nonsense onto the web at this point.. ;)

Until Next time..
It has been 7 days since the day (December 3, 2008), since the rug has been swept from under me. Due to the tumultuous economy and work woes as of late, I am using the month of December to get back on track, and to help others that may need an extra leg to stand on. Eventhough I am currently jobless with dwindling funds, I think its important to support the people around you. This way, they will supposrt the people around them, then pretty soon the weighing economy wont seem so bad. I believe if everyone just gives a hand to 1 person besides themselves, we will have a tighter knit community & a support group like nothing you've ever seen.
I was talking with a friend maybe a year & some odd months ago, & he was telling me that the perception of American people have been rather cold. Or maybe "cold" is the wrong word. He described it more like we were a shell of a person.. hollow. Like they'll meet the shell friend in hopes of soon connecting with the inner friend, only to be disappointed. From experience I understand what he says. I, for one, do not open my heart & soul to friend until i am completely sure they are not a double crosser. Kinda grim when you think about it right? Us as Americans tend to keep ourselves guarded, as to not fall victim to the theif of lies. But from an American's point of view (my own), I have many experiences where I'll meet a new friend & we seem to hit it off perfectly! Then a few keeys or few short months later, they turn their back on you for no reason...without explaination..nothing! I have tried to come to the conclution that this means i have offended them & they wont tell me that bc they dont like confrontation, but instead will just pretend i never existed. How Rude! :( ANyhoo, the point of me bringing this up is bc we as a ppl need to understand that we all need each other to survive. If everyone would stop being selfish for a long enough moment to split your bread in half & give it to a friend, we would develop a living place as tight as the Dickens!!!
So I have a plan to use up this December month as follows:

1. Paint to my hearts desire! Its been a while since I've been able to sit down w/ my oils and a freshly made frame & muslin. Maybe I'll start w/ portraits first? I'm sure the ppl around here wont mind the free gift..
2. Work on installation artwork (sculptures, vinyl wall stickers, mobiles, etc..) I really want to find out how I can work holographic images into the mix. NO, not holography, where you use layers of LED paper to make a picture look 3D, but actual moving holographic video. Alexander McQueen & Deisel made their own for the fashion world last year. Now its the end of this year & no sign of such things in the entertainment industry just yet. If anyone were to use it on their next tour, it would have to be Nine Inch Nails! Or at least that's who I'd want it to be.. But how much does this thing cost? & can I get a sponsor? & what programs can I use??? I WANT TO GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY!!!

3. Perfect portfolio and/or sew samples for portfolio. Concentrate on my own line. Not that there's much to concentrate on just yet, but I would at least like to hone in on the direction that I think it should go.. I need to develop the identity of my customer, then design the shit out of her.. but I need a muse..

4. Purchase laptop so that i can apply design applications as well as music applications for Freelance work. There's just gotta be a cheaper/easier way to get a mac for this...but i may have to settle down for a PC...according to my dad.. :(

Eh, so i guess I better get off of here & hop to it!
